Epic has released hundreds of industry-standard and public APIs, open to everyone, and available free to app developers. We recommend beginning with these standards as the foundation for your design solution. Building on that, Epic offers additional self-service resources, including the Design Overview, App Developer Guidelines, and Data Sharing Playbooks. We've also seen how essential customer engagement and feedback are to success, so we've compiled recommended practices for working with healthcare customers based on our experiences.

Vendor Services
Vendor Services is an optional support offering from Epic, available to any organization that meets the basic enrollment criteria. Vendor Services builds on everything available on open.epic by offering additional technologies and services to build and enable your app's connection to Epic software. Once enrolled, you can contact a pool of Epic TS representatives for Q&A-style support for services such as integration design feedback, direct troubleshooting assistance, install support, and more. Enrolled vendors also can access an expanded API specifications catalog to enable their data exchange where industry-standard APIs may not yet exist or fully meet the needs of a specific use case.
